Alyssa Aikman, MSN, ARNP, PMHNP-BC

Alyssa (she/her) is an ANCC-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and a Texas transplant who is now joyfully residing here in the lovely upper left U.S. She has an master's degree in nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and has over 10 years of experience in the healthcare field as a pharmacy technician, an RN on an inpatient chemical detox unit, and an RN on an inpatient child and adolescent psychiatric unit.

Alyssa works primarily with child, adolescent, and young/early adult patients of all genders and sexualities, and has experience treating depression, bipolar disorder, ADD/ADHD, sleep disorders, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) and numerous other conditions.

She does not provide neuropsych or psychological evaluations for autism and developmental conditions, but she has a great deal of experience working with all ages of patients on the autism spectrum with co-occuring mental health concerns. Her treatment approach is holistic and patient-centered; she believes that treatment should be a two-way exchange between the provider and the patient, where treatment planning is collaborative and the patient always feels heard.

In her free time she enjoys cuddling with her cat Teddy, playing the ukulele, embroidering, scrapbooking, antiquing, and hiking and exploring the outdoors.
